This CD is an excellent example to explore a special kind of world music. Clear your minds, get rid of your sweats and - may the 2/4s be with you! Who says so? Rio Reiser, an awesome German rockstar and anarchist, wrote no wild Polkas, thus lies were punished on Track 1 "ALLES LUEGE" (All is Lies) Track 2, "DZIEWCZYNA Z CHICAGO" (Girls from Chicago), is a homage to the Chicago Polka king, Gene Wisniewski. Track 5, "BOLLE POLKA", is a traditional and violent Berlin Polka from the 1920s. It was the seminal influence for a Blues Polka. "WHO STOLE THE KEESHKA" is on Track 9. Keeshka is a special kind of East European blood sausage. The question is not whether but when this Polka appears in the program of every Polka band. It is without a doubt a world hit and has nothing for vegetarians! Track 11 "SCHÖNE FRAU AUS TAORMINA" (The girl from Taormina) is a Sicilian affair. Okay, rejected men are not particularly the best Polka subject, but that's what makes them, on the other hand, especially attractive. Track 13, "POLKA KEBAB", is a longing for a delicacy with the flavour from One Thousand and One Nights.
