This is an easy to
understand improvisation method for everyone. A little bit of
theory, a lot of experimentation, and a lot of fun. Along with
a careful introduction to improvisation through a musical question-and-answer
game are the most important scales (with exercises in all keys).
And also shown, is how, by using the scales, one can produce
creative improvisations. Musical scores are included for C-,
Bb- und Eb- instruments. Scores for the Bass-key are optional.
The music book also contains scores for the piano, so that one
can play the pieces either with the accompanying CD or with
accompanying musicians. Language: German.
In 1993 Helmut Eisel
offered the first workshops on Klezmer improvisations. "Klezmer"
in the original meaning of the word means that a musician does
not play music, but acts as a medium between music and audience.
Taking up this idea, people can enrich their lives with music
- whether music be their hobby, their profession or simply a
source of pleasure.
The applications of this approach are manifold: playful training
of perceptions, communication and rhythm making; singing collective
improvisations and broadening musical expressiveness; or even
creating a concert or a CD-recording.
Learning through improvisation allows the participants to become
familiar with the components of Klezmer music: scales and rhythms
that are both exotically foreign and pleasantly familiar.
To date Helmut Eisel has worked with hobby and professional
musicians, with actors and actresses, with pupils and teachers
at various types of schools (eg. elementary, grammar schools),
and with patients in therapeutic institutions. Furthermore,
he offers workshops for music teachers on behalf of the German
Council of Music.
In connection with concerts, Helmut Eisel also offers introductory
workshops for the above mentioned topics.
