Alpcologne

Alpcologne was formed as an alphorn trio in 2001 by Mitch Hoehler. In 2004, the Italo-American vocalist Victoria Riccio joined the band.

Mitch Hoehler - Alphorn, Arrangements
Discovered the alphorn as a herder's helper in Switzerland; in 2001 he founded Alpcologne.
Composer, and trombone and saxophone player on 4 continents. Theater music; former member of the cult band Sogenanntes linksradikales Blasorchester. Alphorn performance with artist Angie Hisl (the swinging alphorn from the 5-meter diving board); brass band Dicke Luft; founder of Midges at Work - the first Cologne saxophone orchestra. Concerts in Nicaragua, alphorn solo in the desert of Namibia. 1996-2003 member of the Schäl Sick Brass Band.

Born in Freiburg in Breisgau (Germany).
Studied jazz trumpet with Manfred Schoof and Markus Stockhausen.
Ex-member of the Schäl Sick Brass Band; horn section of the legendary Cologne band the Bläck Fööss. Guest performances with Bobby McFerrin, Karlheinz Stockhausen,
Tanztheater Bonn, Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf, Dirk Bach, Brings, Guildo Horn.
Initiator of the alternative Cologne Carnival show "Deine Sitzung."


Norbert Schmeisser - Alphorn
Born in Erlangen, Germany.
Concerts with Ack Van Royen, Bobby Shew, Peter Herbolzheimer, Herbert Joos. Big-Bands - including with Ray Charles. Winner of the "Deutscher Musikhochschulwettbewerb" (German Conservatory Competition) in1988, and the "Deutscher Musikwettbewerb" (German Music Competition) in 1991.
Trombone player in the WDR Radio Orchestra since 1993. Numerous solo concerts.
